I was definitely late to the Yussef Dayes party. This wizard with a pair of drumsticks has been giving great rhythms to the people for many years now. I'll never forget the first time I heard "Strings of Light" from his collab project with Kamaal Williams. The UK native clearly gives 150% of himself when performing this great piece of music.
His weapon of choice during this time was the Yamaha Recording Custom in the real wood color. Yamaha had improving the sound in mind when updating this set. The 6 ply shell in tandem with the improved tension lugs enhance the low ends on the tones. This kit is a great pick up for drummers of all genres.
